  At Atrium Health Services, we are always seeking to improve upon the treatments we offer our patients through evidence-based research. If it doesn't work, we DON'T do it! Although we currently conduct research on a small scale, we are looking to expand our research efforts to provide optimal treatment. We need your Help! This will be your opportunity to experience advanced techniques specifically targeting the fibromyalgia.

  • Result from our first subject:

  At Atrium Health Services, we have designed a complete and individualized Fibromyalgia program. We believe that the nervous system becomes hyperexcited and overreactive to stimuli. We are currently conducting a clinical research study involving Fibromyalgia patients. Our goal is to reestablish the proper neurological input to the body by decreasing the hyperexcitation and overload of the brain and nervous system.

  Our first subject came in a wheel-chair and wasn't able to stand up more than three seconds without falling on the ground. Any kinesiological muscle testing was not possible due to her condition. Interestingly enough, the subject also had a blood disease name Porphyria which gave her seizure-like symptoms, nausea and dizziness. The amounts of pressure tolerated by the subject on all the Fibromyalgia tender points were less than 3 lbs per cm². After the 3^rd visit, the subject was able to use a walker instead of a wheel-chair. At the end of the clinical research study, the subject was able to stand up, walk without a walker and even run short distances. The amounts of pressure changed from 3 lbs per cm² to up to 28 lbs per cm² after only 10 SOT chiropractic treatments.
